Step Up For Cancer is an informational, educational and fundraising stair-climbing event focused on uniting all generations in support in the fight against cancer. This event is designed to increase awareness of community cancer resources and to foster greater collaboration among Denver metro nonprofit cancer organizations. Join us in our second year and Step Up on Sunday, August 8th.

The Event

Participants of all abilities and ages will be walking or running the stairs. Enjoy live music, performers, restorative yoga, the kids zone, and massage stations throughout the event. In addition, over 40 non-profit cancer organizations will be positioned around the stadium providing information about their organization including: healthy living, cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, access to care, patient and caregiver support, research, advocacy, and survivorship.

Elite
  1. Race time: 7:00 am - 7:30 am. This is our fastest heat and you’ll race for fun giveaways
  2. Men: able to complete a 5K in under 21:00 (about 6:45/mile pace)
  3. Women: able to complete a 5K in under 25:00 (about 8:00/mile pace)
Timed
  1. Race time: 7:30 am - 9:00 am
  2. All ages and abilities welcome! You will receive a timing chip during registration and you’ll be able to check your time online
Family/Untimed
  1. Race time: 9:00 am - 11:00 am
  2. Enjoy the course at your own pace
Accessible
  1. Race time: 9:00 am - 11:00 am
  2. A special course will be set up on the field for those who don’t want to climb stairs

The Course

Everyone of all ages is invited to participate. The course is comprised of 33 rows, 1,765 stairs and uniquely designed to be completed at your own pace and ability. Don't want to climb stairs? An Accessible course is available on the field and does not require stair climbing.

What To Bring

Wear comfortable clothing, sneakers, and sunscreen. Water stations are located throughout the stadium. Spectators are welcome for encouragement and to walk the non-profit area.

Entertainment

Live Entertainment from Judge Roughneck and Pet Motel. CBS4’s Vic Lombardi to emcee the event.

Event t-shirt, bib number and timing chip are available for pick-up on the day of the event only, beginning at 6:30am.
